ABOUT
Welcome From The Head Of School
One of my favorite activities each day is standing outside the front doors of the school and welcoming each student by name into the building. Some come full of energy, with an enthusiastic – “Good morning, Dr Kaiser!” – as they file past; others offer a more muted greeting – “Hi, Dr. Kaiser” – as they continue the wake-up process. All of them come with wonderful and unique characteristics and vast potential to grow, develop, and thrive.
Seeing the students each morning is a wonderful reminder of our mission: to nurture the character and uniqueness of each child, to inspire joy in learning, to foster holistic growth, and to encourage compassionate relationships in service to the common good. By accomplishing these things, we cultivate the wisdom of each child and prepare students to find their place and purpose in the world.
As students walk into the building and head to their classrooms, I know they are entering a safe and joyful environment. I know they are entering a space where they can follow their curiosity and take advantage of opportunities for both independent learning and collaborative work. I know they are entering a space where they are accepted and supported: a place where they can flourish and reach their full potential at their own pace and in their own way.
It is a privilege to be only the second Head of School in Good Shepherd’s history and my respect for the school has only grown since I assumed my position in July 2022. Each day I see our impact on children – including my own daughter – and watch this impact radiate out to families and the surrounding community. I delight in the work accomplished by students, faculty, and staff each day and I know the future of GSMS is exceptionally bright.
Please know that you are warmly invited for a visit. I would love to have you experience firsthand what makes Good Shepherd Montessori School such a special place.
