Athletics
We currently offer two organized sports at Good Shepherd Montessori School.
In the fall, students from 1st–8th grade take part in cross country. Students practice after school and run in several organized meets throughout the season. Our coaches place a heavy emphasis on fun and want students to enjoy being active with their friends. Students come away with knowledge of proper running technique and a sense of accomplishment as they complete races.
In the spring, we offer track and field to students from 4th–8th grade. Students compete with athletes from other independent schools in running events and long jump. Students choose which events they would like to participate in and enjoy the opportunity to set their own goals and improve at their own pace. As in the fall, coaches seek to foster a joyful environment during practices and track meets.
After-School Care
After-school care is provided each school day from 3:00–5:30 pm through the Camp Fire Extended Day program. Please visit the Camp Fire website for more detailed information.
At Good Shepherd Montessori School we provide learning opportunities not only for children, but for parents as well.
Parent Education Nights
Each year we have four Parent Education Nights. This is an opportunity for parents to learn about and experience different aspects of Montessori philosophy and pedagogy.

Parent Coffee
We host a Parent Coffee Morning one Friday each month from 8:00 a.m. — 9:00 a.m. Each of these Fridays is an opportunity for parents to socialize and discuss various topics in an informal setting. Recent discussions have involved health and nutrition for children, Montessori principles for the home, and book recommendations for all ages.

In-Home Montessori Consultations
Each GSMS family has the opportunity to schedule two 90-minute in-home consultations each year with our Montessori Consultant, Sarah Kulwicki. The purpose of these consultations is to help families brainstorm ways to incorporate Montessori principles at home, in large or small ways. See here for more information.
